Project Manager / Consultant – (Container) Terminal Automation

Your Role
As a Project Manager or Consultant, you will work on the design, implementation, and optimization of automation solutions for (container) terminals and warehouses. Depending on your experience, you may lead projects independently or work under the guidance of a senior team member. You will collaborate closely with terminal stakeholders to help them realize operational excellence through process optimization and the deployment of advanced systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Consulting & Analysis
- Conduct assessments of terminal operations, systems, and processes to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
- Translate strategic goals into actionable plans and system recommendations, including TOS, GOS, ECS, and terminal equipment.
- Deliver clear, structured advice and proposals tailored to the terminal’s operational reality.
Project Management
- Manage or support automation and integration projects from planning to delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met.
- Coordinate across teams and departments to align on goals and expectations.
- Provide regular updates and reporting to client stakeholders.
Implementation & Optimization
- Oversee or assist in the deployment of systems and equipment, such as automated stacking cranes (ASC), automated guided vehicles (AGV), and quay cranes (QC).
- Monitor system and equipment performance and identify areas for ongoing improvement.
- Recommend process enhancements that increase productivity and reliability.
Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Conduct training sessions for client teams to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and tools.
- Share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned with both clients and colleagues.
Development & Growth
- For experienced professionals: Lead complex projects and help shape strategic directions.
- For early-career professionals: Learn through mentorship, on-the-job training, and increasing responsibility.
What You Bring
For experienced professionals:
- Proven experience in project management and/or consulting within logistics, automation, or IT.
- Understanding of (container) terminal, warehouse operations and automation systems is a strong plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
For aspiring professionals:
- A degree in logistics, industrial engineering, business administration, IT, or a related field.
- Curiosity, drive to learn, and a keen interest in automation and container logistics.
- Analytical mindset and willingness to work in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
